I began writing this "Operation Marriage" blog for The Fayetteville Observer newspaper in April 2006, back when blogging just meant telling strangers what you ate for breakfast. Actually, it still kind of means that, only now you have to take pictures of the food and then pin and share the recipe ... or something like that. This blog was supposed to be only about military family life but it turned into much more, including an outlet that helped me get through my husband's many deployments and the stress that comes with raising children, often alone, during war time. It became my lifeline. I moved it here, to my own site, in 2010 and, all these years later, it's still my preferred way to connect with people all over the world.
Military life is an exhausting, chaotic, hilarious adventure. Join the conversation, or just come along for the ride.
